Even a 'midget' boat in the right hands is better than a maxi in the wrong hands.

You guys should have been on the starting line for the Galveston Bay Championships in circa 1977 or '78 off Texas City Dike. What a Hoot! 70 + boats (one start) - first Gulf Coast regional showdown between the Prindle 19, NACRA 5.2, and Hobie 18. Johnny Maudlin was PRO. Cauldwell's P - 19, from Texas, won the event overall (on a tie breaker if I remember) as a result of a rating adjustment to the NACRA 5.2 during the series.

How many of ya'll remember Dick Blanchard and NAMSA?

How about having another "Portsmouth Championships" for catamarans like we used to do in the background of US Sailing, but have the US Sailing Portsmouth Comm and the Championship Comm support the idea for consideration?

The Perpetual Trophy would be in honor of Darline Hobock. Kirt Simmons presented this proposal during the MHC in Phoenix, and Carl Reigart acted in favor of looking into the possibility of such an event.
