<br>We race a couple of times a year with mixed fleets. The problem with it is the outcome of the event is not skill determined it depends upon the conditions. A cat relys on boat speed, ie few up wind tacks.. In lighter switchy wind or on small lakes, the monohulls run much closer to threir numbers than you can on a cat.

<br>The up side is that certain boats like the Melges in the right conditions will give a good race iireguardless of the numbers.
