Any other cat sailors in or near Charleston, SC? I know there are only a few of us around.... I have a Hobie 17 Sport that I just finished restoring and I'm starting do a good bit of cat sailing. The local long-distance sailing group told me they don't allow cats to sail with them. And it would be nice to not have to drive all the way to the sailing regattas in south Florida in order to sail with other cats. I'd like to meet up with a few other guys in the area to do some sailing together off the beach and in the harbor. If interested, you can PM me and maybe we can coordinate to get a few of us together.

I'm in Greenville, SC and part of the EMSA crowd. We have many events throughout the year in GA, SC, and NC. June 4th and 5th is our next event on Lake Keowee in Seneca, SC...a long standing regatta "Bare what you Dare". We should have several different classes and an open class...there may be a Hobie 17 there as well. You're more than welcome to join in the fun.
We should have a fall event back in Columbia, SC this fall but we are pretty active and race on Lake Hartwell, Lake Murray, Lake Keowee, and Lake Norman and try to race once per year in Myrtle Beach. You'll find more information at
