Basically their mainsheet is most functioning as a traveller , hence the low 2:1 or 3:1 mainsheet sheeting. The ram vang is taking care of pulling the leech tight, something we cat sailors do with our mainsheet. Basically the two setups are significantly more different then is apparent at first glance.
