Of course, I am referring to regatta marks/buoys! (The big yellow Plastimo ones to be exact.)
I have two that I need to patch up. I've noticed that patching them with the included materials (IE: Extra Material and adhesive glue included with marks) seems to not last, as two of the repairs needed are old repairs where the patch has peeled off.
I noticed that a couple of other repairs have a clear hardened liquid over them with no patch material at all. Just this mysterious liquid. It seems to work great as they have not leaked or peeled off.

Any ideas as to what this might be or what I can use to patch the marks in this manner?

Another question. What about that stuff they sell to patch or help protect tires from punctures? Repair-a-flat or something like that. Would that work on marks? I don't want to risk damaging the marks, so if anyone has any ideas on how to help protect them let me know.
