Not an expert but.... 1) the decks pry off with a heat gun... but they usually break in the process and you put new decks back on.

2) Fellow in my area cut access holes on the insides of the hulls ... replaced the gudgeons with two of them doubled up and a backing plate and then reglassed the cutout back in.
