Hey Brian, Thanks for the props! We had a great time, well worth the trip despite the 28 hour drive each way. The crazy part was that on saturday as it was starting to get dark Viki came down with a migrane that would normally have put her in bed for 10-12 hours after taking some good medications. Since that wasn't an option she ended up puking over the side of the boat(first time she has thown up from a migrane and not got the the ER) from the pain and sleeping in the middle of the tramp for the last three to four hours. Every once in a while she would wake up and check the GPS for ETA and just moan. She was a trooper and got up sunday morning and put on the wet sailing gear to battle it out again though. I am paying for it with daily back and neck rubs, making dinners, and lots of extra general attention as payment! She deserves every bit of it though.
It was great to see all our 'southern friends' and make new ones too. There was some awesome battles going on in our group of boats. I can't even imagine how many times we were switching places. This was the type of racing that makes everyone a better sailor!
Rick and Mary, thanks again for a great race. Next year we will bring some extra quarters for the wind machine!
Oh, and when we got home, we had the pleasure of digging out our driveway from a foot of snow when we were gone to put the truck and boats away. I had to take off my sandles ot start shoveling!
We hope to have some pictures posted on the website this time next week.
Chris
