tshan old hand T Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 1,121 Eastern NC, USA	It is required by most state regulations that boats over a certain length carry a throwable flotation (PFD Type IV) device. Alabama state law sets the minimum length at 16 ft (meaning 16 ft and up must have a throwable accessible). Tom
