(First: I didn't see it) but have any of you even heard the tale of Smyth coming in during the Worrell 1000 with a jammed daggerboard? Board won't come up, he comes screaming through the surf flying a hull, slides up through the finish line on the dry beach still on the wire with the hull and daggerboard clear in the air, working the main as the boat comes to a stand still and the ground crew grabs the lifted hull and unjams the board from below.
Granted, I've heard this through a friend of a friend of a friend who's sister saw it...but still.
