G'day all, just dropping a line to say that Mossie 1673 Bite Me is now a goer in sunney Hervey Bay , Queensland. Picked up the beast afew months ago from Woolongong. I purchased it through Ebay.
Love the boat, especially like the fact that one person can rig it and get it in and out by themself, no need to rely on a crew.
Not real fast yet, didn't know there was so many tech aspects to sailing.
Bought some Dotan rudders for the boat, kick ups like the hobie, made a real difference getting on and off the beach. Made the Mossie point and handle a lot nicer. Now have a set of Hobie Carbon Fibre rudders for sale. Will post photos later.
Have't gone out on the trap yet (chicken), but I'm working up to it. 90kg says I don't have to go out (not yet anyway )
Enjoy reading the forum, any pointers helping me to point higher to the wind would be greatly appreciated. Love the boat, love the class and I'm looking forward to many years of sailing.
Regards
Pat Drover
