Most A-cat hulls weight between 13-17kg. A Taipan 4.9 hull weights around 23 kg. I am curious what are average current hull weights for popular classes like
F18
Tornado?
I assume the Tornado does have a minimum platform weight while the F18 has (like the A) only a minimum total weight?
But what is the weight of a bare hull (including fixed fittings but no daggerboards/centerboards attached)?
The Tornado became significant lighter over the years but does that mean that a current Marstroem hull is noticeable lighter (surely it gained stiffness) than a Tornado hull build 20 years ago?
How about these develompents in the F18 class?
Does a Tiger hull weight in similar than a Capricorn or Nacra one and is this still similar to the hull weights of the early dominating but nowadays unpopular Dart Hawk etc...?
Curious in some numbers... and just in case you think you hulls are h e a v y, I might publish the hull weight of my 1982 Supercat 20 too <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
