During the sailing season the boat (Hobie Tiger) is stored in the garage on the trailer. My garage is 22 ft wide and 31 ft deep. Deep enough to keep the mast on the trailer and wide enough to park a car along side. The winter months are different though. The boat is completely disassembled and stored in the basement. I've removed the sailbox and wheels/axle from the trailer. I then tilted the trailer sideways against the wall and tied it in place. Now I have room to park all vehicles inside and not scrape windshields when it snows <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

It was close getting the mast in the garage. It almost had to go through a window into the basement. My wife was actually ok with having it hanging from the family room ceiling, after I told her a replacement was almost as much as I had paid for the boat itself.

I am definitely not enjoying the scraping and super frozen car every morning, but didn't want to take the chance with the boat in the elements. We have about a foot of snow on the ground right now. I do have winter storage lined up for next year already.
