HA, HA! U funni, but probably correct. Especially below I-10 here in the south. There is one house here that has a "basement", but the house is 5' above the ground and closed in below. I would just call that a crawl space... to each his own though.

Basements here would almost always have a sump pump running, my place near the lake has an elevation of 5' ASL. Of course I built the house at 15' ASL just in case! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

We don't have basements nor do we have snow... we'll do without the basements and you can keep the snow, Brrrrrr.
