I just upgraded my office workstation to dual 19" LCD monitors, and am looking for a good wallpaper to spread across both displays. I'm running 2304x864 (1152x864 spread across both), so I'm looking for some good cat sailing photos of that size or larger.

Anyone have anything like this I can pinch to use as wallpaper?

I just went through the same process and am really digging my dual 19" LCD setup...it's not cat related but there are some terrific (and free!) sailing and ocean related high res shots here;

Say, I haven't figured out how to display one image across both monitors yet...I just get two mirror images. I could do this on my previous setup.

Oooo...wait. I found it, but don't like it. It's nice to have the desktop picture continuous and my windows bar to continue across both screens, but when I maximize a window when it's set to continuous display, it spreads it across both screens. Doing the same thing set in dual display mode, and maximizing a window only fills the one monitor that the window was on (and I can reduce the window out of max mode, drag it to the other monitor, and maximize it there) - but then my desktop is mirrored between the two.

Yeah, no maximize in this setup. The only way to make the apps work with the display spread across is to open each, and size the window to fill one of the monitors only. PITA to setup, but once done, you're good to go.

Not sure how well it'll work with different sized monitors, but check the settings of your video card software. Should be an option to spread the desktop across both monitors. Be warned to what Jake said...it's all or nothing, so maximized applications spread too.

Great shots, Dave...thanks for that, but I've not found any wide aspect ratio ones yet. Are they all square?

You can crop them easily enough. I can do it for you if you want, just tell me which ones. Not sure if you saw it or not, but at the top right of the page it says "full size" abd if you click on the number beside it, then you get the high rez pic, or you can also click on the picture again to get it.

Was hoping to avoid having to do any editing, but since most public pics aren't wide, I may be stuck. I have Photoshop at home, so I'll browse that site tonight and play around with a few.

I will say this...the dual-monitor wallpaper thing is damn impressive. I just have to find a good reason to upgrade to 21" LCDs... <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Sorry guys, but little dual, triple or multi monitor setups are out.

You want to play with the big boys its a minimum 42" 1920x1080 LCD.

Now, you get two of those and your my hero.

Stuart:

Send me a email link to tds052050 at hotmail.com. First one free. I have one Cd with about 400 of Wayward Winds and another of about 260 of Texas Catamaran Championships each are $20. All are at least 1.5 meg shots. AND a 17" widescreen laptop with 1920 x 1600 is pretty sweet too.

Doug
