We are starting to get feedback on who might be coming to this event so here's some info for those who are interested.
In the A-class, we have eight boats for sure with another 5-7 that are strongly considering.
In the F-18 class, I believe Chris Green is bringing himself and another boat from the Houston/Galveston area. John Tomko called me tonight and let me know that he and Tiffany are making the trip from San Antonio and he thought another team from Austin would be coming. We have at least two local F-18's that will also be racing (one from Houma, LA and a new sailor from Baton Rouge).
In the I-20 class, we hope to get 8-10 boats from TX and FL but I have not heard from anyone at this time.
In the Corsair class, we have one Sprint 750, one F-27 (Tami?) and two F-24's signed up at this time. We are hoping to get at least two F-28R's and will race the entire fleet as a PHRF group.
We announced the regatta to a gathering of F-16 sailors in Gulfport this weekend and hope to see at least three.
This regatta will be excellent training for F-18 and A-Class sailors preparing for their NAC and WC respectively later this year. When the breeze is on, Lake Pontchartrain offers waves and chop similar to that found at the A-Class WC venue in Islamorada and the F-18 NAC venue in Corpus Christi.
BTW, 19 A-boats in Gulfport this past weekend. Way to go guys!
NOR is attached once again. Hope more of you will consider this event which we hope to build into a major gulf coast regatta.
