Pick your favorite... bets your money..

That ol axe... "YOUTH WILL BE SERVED" Starts this weekend.

Youth Participants for the Art Stevens Championship Trophy

Looks like real competition is brewing.

Sam Ingham... (His dad campained a Tornado. Mulitple NA champion in lots of class... oh yeah... College All American I think Sam's resume is better at a comprable age!!!)

Ben Malcheski (Last seen driving a Tornado for his Dad in the Miami OCR)

Fitz Stunnzi (I think his older brother is racing with Robbie Daniel the US number 2 USA Tornado team)

Jared Sonnenklar (Hmmmm I think he has LOTs of miles under his belt... something about getting to Tybee with his dad)

Anybody know something about the other teams?

(FYI... THIS IS WHAT US SAILING IS ALL ABOUT for those that ask)

Luke Lawrence, 16, grew up on cats -- his parents raced Hobie 18 and then Nacra 6.0. But now he sails Lasers and just got picked for the new US Sailing Elite Youth Development Team -- one of three kids in the country for full Laser, and he is No. 1 in the country in his age bracket.

But he still races cats, too, so it will be interesting to see how he does at the Youth Multihull Championship.
By the way, his folks rented a Blade F16 for Luke and his crew to practice on, since there are no SL16's available in South Florida where they live.

Luke Lawrence and Alex Sachs will also be representing the youth in this year's Alter Cup.

Ian Shillebeeckx & Ian Moriarty from CSA (home of the 06 NAF18s) are certain to give the fleet fits. Shillebeeckx took 6th in the junior Lightning worlds last year on behalf of the US and was crew for Dan Paoli in the only junior team at the NAF18s last year. Moriarty is younger (15) but his dad is a very accomplished mono sailor including a couple of National Dinghy titles. While neither have deep cat experience, we expect them to do well and perhaps even more importantly, their participation in this event marks a big turning point in breaking down the barriers between mono's and multis in our club!!
