Another photo showing both islands, a Pier a Lighthouse and some Quality Cats. Needless to say the appendages weren't added until after the Vikings and had more to do with the Victorians.

Hi Gogecko

AHPC (Australian High Performance Catamarans) they would send it to you in NZ, no problems.

Go to ahpc.com.au or call +61 (0) 3 5443 6910, I usually ask for Andrew.

Regards

Is it just me or is this an unusual new technique? Is this some sort of "wild thing"? Is the skipper underwater on the starboard side, hauling down on that red spin sheet? Looks like he might have the main sheet down there with him as well. Is that how he got that lee hull to fly? Interesting batten shape as well. WT.F??? Inquiring minds want to know!

You drive on the wrong side of the road and sail on the bottom of the boat.

My bet is that this boat is being righted from a capsize position.

Our lake is called Lake Maumelle and our yacht club Grande Maumelle because we also have two hills that reminded the lonely French explorers of this area of breasts (= "maumelle" in French I'm told).
As for getting one hull out of the water- your wetted surface decreases by ~40% is the commonly accepted number. The "A"'s do this whenever possible in all conditions to the extent of balancing on the leeward hull downwind in even very light airs and if you are good enough to maintain the balance you will beat the other boats-

yes but standing on the water (hard enough in itself ) and pushing up the hull aint the accepted method of doing it nor recommended !

One hull across and down wind is a refined art but once learnt never forgotten.
All my boats gain from it.
