Posts: 3,293 Long Beach, California | Hate to reply to MYSELF, but since nobody's piping up;
1st race Saturday - light shifty. 2nd race - spin boats misbehaved (gen recalls) until the A Cats started finishing. 3rd race - better breeze but still shifty. 3 races for spin boats, 4 for As.
Sunday - breeze in the high teens, temps in the 50s, both fleets bagged racing and everyone's on the way home. Wimps! We were frost-biting at SF last week! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Kidding 'bout that - it's blowing in the 20s here in Jax with one gust at my dock at 35. Too much for me! Sorry the folks didn't get more racing in.

Posts: 1,152 tampa, fl | Maco Man was held in Tampa on Saturday, despite only 4 showing for the event, it was a great sail from Davis Island to Dunedin Causeway. It was a close reach south down the bay with 2 I-20's leading the way in a gusty southeasterly. After sailing under the skway bridge the wind was suprisingly light compared to what we had just sailed down the bay in. As the boats approached Egmont Key, spinnakers went up and it was a run all the way to dunedin causeway. Like a switch, the wind Gods turned it on, and the southerly breeze piped up to a solid 18-20. The 2 I-20's finished only a few minutes apart after nearly 6 hours on the water. Not too far behind came a Hobie 20 and then a Supercat 20 who had a tale to tell of a wild pitchpole off Clearwater Pass. Thanks to those who attended!! We really earned the title of "Macho Men"!!!!

Posts: 138 Florida, Pnellas, USA | The first boat to Dunedin Fl. was I-20 Dennis Bedgood and John Fondrk 5hr 30min. Not the record but close. Everyone who finishes this one is considered Macho! A big distance race. The Mini-Macho scheduled for Sunday was posponed due to weather The threat of tornadoes will increase to the north of the Tampa Bay area into Sumter, Citrus and Levy but the thunderstorms in the squall line could spawn tornadoes anyplace.
