Great event, venue, very hospitable club members, and the best BBQ sauce I've ever had... sorry to see the old clubhouse go. From what I understand they were holding off the demolition crew until after this event. But a new bigger and better clubhouse may be ready for Outback Cup.

Derek... where were all the State club folks?

Conditions were good on Sat, but not 10-15. Maybe a fairly steady 8, but we got in 4 races on Sat and one long race on Sunday.

Thanks to Dave, Wendy, the coffee Princess (Carmen ? I think), Billy Ray, and the rest of the race committee

Our club's annual "Commodore's Gala" was Saturday night so we had to stay in town for the weekend. I heard Trey got a harrassing phone call for not being there.

Mark,
The 'coffee princess' is Candace. That coffee maker is a beast. She had to be there around 6 or 6:30 both mornings just to get coffee ready by 8am breakfast.
She is also the Seacats treasurer, sponsor liaison, and in charge of the huge raffle. Candace rocks.

Speaking of sponsors. One of the sponsors who donated a harness and a PFD to the raffle was fellow sailor and Seacat, Paul Goff. That was really special for us.

Because of outrageous medical expenses and a growing family, last year's regatta earnings went to assist him and his family. Now, this year he is doing so much better and able to be one of the sponsors to help raise funds for Children's hospital. That just makes you smile inside.

In addition,
Layline also supported our raffle. Mike Krantz is generous every year.

Southern Wine and Spirits are incredible to us.

West Marine is a great sponsor too.

Thanks to everyone!

Hey Wendy,

Had a great time racing against you and Zander! We were tied going into Sunday and the racing was tons of fun.

Those Truckstop Preachers kicked my butt though! I think they nabbed my crew too!

Thanks Again, had a wonderful time!

Thanks to DA-MOS for letting me inhabit his RV for the weekend. I'm turning into a transient drifter.

I knew Carman wasn't her name... sorry Candace, but either the Rum drinks or keg fuzzied my memory. I wasn't too alert in the mornings or sailing for that matter. But had a great time just the same.

Thanks go to many people, but Wendy and Candace are the main players. This regatta grows every year, 49 boats this year and a commitment from many bystanders that they wish they had sailed in it this year. Hope you guys can come sail with us this year at the Outback Cup in October.

Tad, Chris and I were just saying that we were disappointed you were not able to sail Sunday. We really wanted to finish sailing against you. Another time. We will be at Cinco De Mayo... <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
