I have heard the more rake you have in your mast the better you point. Is this true when sailing with a heavy crew in moderate to light wind conditions? I am not light, adding crew puts total weight close to 400. I have been sailing with some rake but not nearly what others have figuring I need more power because of the weight. Would I gain from raking my mast back more?

More rake de-powers the boat too, so with a heavy crew load... likely less rake (not max) would be better.
