With more and more Mosquitoes and Taipans adding spinnakers to their boats.

With a dozen or more home builds going on around the country.

With the 1st production Blade about to pop out of their moulds this week.

Is there any interest in formalising the F16 class in Australia?

Is there any interest in organising some regattas to meet at?

I look forward to some feed back.

Tony Jenkins

yes to all we need good fleets at the first regatta so we need to pick a few venues and ask the masses what they think and when they would like it to be held. When we all get together then we can work on state reps and organising the first f16 nationals. Also I think Aus should hold the next global challenge?

Hi Tony,

have been waiting for numbers to build and somebody to volunteer .

Realy need to get some boats together. I have already posted a Invitation for all F16's to attend the Victorian F16 Challenge at the Sauna Sail on the Queens Birthday Weekend 9-11 June. This will be the 4th Vic F16 Challenge held annualy since 2004, expect 10 plus Vic. boats, already have F16 from Canberra intending to attend, all are welcome to enjoy the warm water.

This is a great chance to showcase the F16's as the regatta numbers 100 boats plus in total. Last year we sailed as a spinnaker cat division with Tornies, F18, F14 etc. and had the A's begging to sail with us as the fast no spinnaker cat fleet didn't have the quality. The front F16's finished in the first 5 over the line each race .

It was reported in Australian Sailing with photo's.

Tony,

Do we need to follow any guidelines that the F16 council might have set out for potential associations that we are most likely to form.?

Maybe Hans or John could point us in the right direction.

Tony and/or Marcus,

Drop me a PM with your specific queries and I'll respond.

The F16 Governing Council have templates for NA constitution and some rules for their formation and affiliation to F16. We also have the rules for running F16 events and, of course, the F16 ruleset plus we are working on the measurement guidance notes.

I also seem to remember that Phill has registered the NSW F16 association a few years ago. It will be wise to contact him as well and see where that initiative stands now.
