Has anyone checked their wheels as baggage on a plane? Bought mine off a guy near Orlando while in town for a convention and checked them as baggage for the flight back. Should've seen the baggage personel handle that!

Did you deflate them and wrap them tightly with duct tape?

So...it sounds like the usual trade-off between time and money. I wonder what the margins are on beach wheels...at $500 they must be pretty good. May be a lucrative business idea for an outsider company to disrupt the market with a $300 product. Nope! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> While waiting to board the plane, my brother and I was watching them load baggage and saw the wheels on top of one of the carts. I bet him $10 that the handler would "press" the wheels like weights... I won! Some things are SO predictable.

It depends. If you have a heavy boat and you are on soft sand then definitely you must buy cat trax. The extra size of the wheels will make a huge difference.

Seitech also makes "B" size wheels which are inbetween the "A" and "F" The website is www.seitech.com
I don't know the measurements off hand but the factory is next door to my work and I can check if anyones interested.
I also put the A wheels as a replacement for the old style (4 wheels roleez) they worked great and as Bill said they have awesome bearings.
