isn't a repeat with the surf! Just wanted to say that as much as I enjoy the Tybee, it does have a habit of getting me quite anxious. I worry about the competitors when the weather is not cooperating. In Pete's thread about "why?" he asks about making it safer. Some of you veterans said the danger is all part of it. I'm damned glad there are no night legs! I admire all the teams, including those that chose not to try it today. Lee Wicklund of Chums II has some surf launch experience from The Great Texas, and I expect from sailing off southern Cal. He's anything but a wimp, and while his crew is no heavyweight, I know Sean has surf launch and landing experience too. They are tough guys! I wish they too would get a penalty rather than disqualified. Wishing all the teams the best, and with great respect, Brian

Tomorrow's leg,

wind supposed to come south to ESE and lay down a bit but the waves will still be pretty big. Larger than normal.

The surf at Cocoa beach looks easier than Jupiter. More regular sets and less pounding shore break. Looking forward to another day in the office tomorrow.

Chris.

I don't agree with the DSQ's either. Those guys proved to be smarter than the rest and are being penalized for it. How does this enhance the race by eliminating a significant portion of the fleet?

if you're reading this...

Local advice from the central Gulf: Randy Smyth never leaves the shore...

This sig would be something witty, but the censors are against that.

Walk softly and marry a big ****.

While teaching a class I was asked by one woman, "What's the difference between firmware and hardware?"

Before I could answer another woman piped up, "One you date, one you marry!"
