First, should I be concerned with keeping my N5.2 class legal or is it pretty rare for three to show up at a race at the same time? This issues is a immediate concern as I have to make a decision on whether to remove the knee buster or not and order a new tramp.

Second, how do I go about getting a handicap rating certificate for this boat?

Bill:

If you can get gree to come you will have three boats. If you have to race Portsmouth you will have to get figures here:

http://www.ussailing.org/portsmouth/tables06/tables06mh.asp

Then look at modification factor link if you make changes. I think you would be racing with me. Think the break is 70 and less low. 70 and higher is high.

I am sitting here thinking about it and thinking why not! IT is only a 7 hour drive. Now just to get my crew in on it, time to make a late night phone call.

Also, I am not worried about other boats being class legal, althought i think mine still is.

Doug, does the 5.2 rate lower than the H17?

Mine is class legal. Removing the knee knocker does not change the class rating.

Nacra 5.2 is 72.1
Hobie 17 is 74
My Mystere 4.3 is 78.5 so you will be giving me some time. 17 is broke so I will be racing the 4.3.

That is how you learn and you may beat me. My starts have SUCKED lately, so you may beat me. If nothing else you will learn a lot. Here is NOR. Email and pre-register. Will be a fun time. Good sailing, food, raffle and BIG bon fire Sat night. Racing will make you a better sailor as you have to do more than reach.
