I have been asked how a member can make a formal proposal for a rule change/addition/amendment:
The F16 Governing Council will only accept proposals for rule amendments in writing. Therefore we require a proposer to submit their proposal via email to myself at [color:"blue"] F16GC(at)formula16.org . This proposal should contain the reasoning behind their proposal, the proposed amendment wording and the existing rules affected or referenced (if any).
Since any submission requires a seconder, we would also require an identical email from another F16 member but making it clear that they are seconding the initial proposal.
The F16GC may then enter discussions with the submitters of the proposal and following any subsequent amendments to referencing or wording, the proposal will be put to the membership by way of a ballot. A twothirds majority of voters will be required to carry an amendment.
The F16GC will subsequently report to the membership the outcome of the ballot, and the number of votes cast, the proportion for or against and any void or spoiled votes.
The period of voting is limited under F16 rules to 10 weeks from the date of first publication of the ballot.
[color:"red"] Please note that the email address shown above will be available from tomorrow, 18th May 2007
