Yo need to implement the "stopper knots" to be able to offset the angle and avoid the pole to sink too early: http://www.catsailor.com/pole-install.html

ditto. Check you have pulled swing rudders down very tight and that they have not loosened.
Your mast might be too far back.
You want the tiller to pull ever so slightley and you sertainly DO NOT want to be pushing it away.
Another dark angel has arrived.

If you mean "do you cleat the main?"

The jury is out. Some do some don't.
I cleat off to do other jobs but generally in high wind I have the rachet on and rely on the tapered main to dump power quickly.

In high winds, people who cleat the main are called "swimmers". In low to medium winds, you can cleat the main and tend to other business.

hello
i just returned from a 14 days of holldays ,with my wife <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> and kid and fx-one <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
i must say that the weather was fine all days, first week with lighht winds 3-7 knots and then last 5 days the wind increse from 15- 25 knots i was sailnig every day from 2 to 9 hours per day <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
sailing with fx1 did sodisfite me ,in all versions in light wind (must say no wind at all) the boat was still moving ,with the wind of 7 knots and three adult and two children -age 12 we were moving just fine -plenty of space also for aditional crew . i am glad that in first week blow light wind so i have plenty of time for learnig, solo and in two
boat doesnt realy care if you are alone or in two must say in stronger winds two were a must . i alone was too light for safe sailing when wind speed pass 20 knots - i was soo stupid to try it. it was like rodeo wind was 22-25 and waves were 1 m high and wery short. the "event" went like this. in less then 100m away from coast one hull was up and was happy and flying over the sea , but when i pass the gulf protection (in gulf wind speed was only 15 -i buy a wind speed meter) the speed dramaticy incresed and waves also. i never see a boat acelerate like this ,i relese a sail a bit, but didint help much the fx1 ackt like the was now one abord start jumping and seems like out of control.finaly i was thrown from trapeze in to i wire and luckly i put a boat in to the wind. i did need a minute or so to get back in me and countinue sailing this time i change course i put it more in the wind and was much more controlabile after 2 hours the wind drop and i was also at the and of my force and nerves- what adrenaline. after that i german guy came to me (same day) and ask me if i want to sell the boat- not jet)
i improve the time to assembly in 2 hours( before 3) and to desembly in 4 -i never use a silicone again)

in general i must say that i have foun aditiona crew my wife love it almost as i
