Has anyone else heard the rumour that a company in Sweden has bought Nacra from Catalina?

Interesting... I saw a little video from Texel '06 and it showed a Marstrom M20 with really large Nacra decals on it. Perhaps this has been brewing for some time. (completely unfounded speculation, but fun nontheless) Imagine it, Marstrom quality and technology combined with Nacra's marketing and dealer network? (again, how much BS speculating can I do)...

I'm intrigued.

I'm pretty sure that it is not Marstrom...but I have very little fact to interject other than I do understand that no deal has yet taken place.

I thought that Peter Vink was buying Nacra from catalina...

Did that rumor prove false... or did the deal fall through.

Can't believe that the deal is secret, so I hope I'm not in trouble. Mischa told me on the beach last week that the "ink is dry" on the deal - Nacra Europe has changes planned for the Santa Ana facility, including some employee security and retention, a re-vamp of the production schedule, etc. Sounded like all positive stuff to me.

I hope so and that would be the smart thing to do. I have dealt with them on a personal level, and Jack, Bob, and Joe are great guys.

My NACRA was involved in an accident, and I had taken to Performance for repairs. When the claims adjuster showed up, they gave him a tour of the factory and explained/shown to him what is going to entail to repair my boat – they guy had no problem cutting them a check for the repairs. You don’t get that kind of personalized touch much these days and there is a tremendous amount of pride in the products manufactured on Borchard Ave. If you are ever in the area go by and take a look. And should you ever have a question Jack or Bob will always call you back.

And, anyone know what they are going to do to the Johnson 18’s, CFJs and the 420s – was that part of the deal?
