I'm still loving this picture from Sailing Anarchy last week with the caption "Thank you Jesus."

That is a cool way to transport cats, I think that is how I want to get to Wayward Winds!

2 Weeks ago the Swiss A cat fleet was racing in Morges on Lake Geneva where a few of these cats http://www.ventilo.ch/28M2.html have there homebase. They (the M2's)were having a regatta on Lake Neuchatel about 60 Km away and the ballache factor of derigging, transport, rerigging etc is a big one for such a short distance. While we we rigging our A's a relatively small helicopter http://www.heliweb.ch/photos/klein/9000632.jpg was shuttling back and forth with the boats. It is bizarre to watch, the helicopter hovers over the cat which is still at its mooring and 30 seconds later it flies off with a 28ft cat dangling fully rigged below, its straight out of a Bond story. Very cool to watch. Video here under images http://www.am2.org/ Those M2 are apparently seriously very damn fast in under 10 knots of breeze.
German A Nationals are next week, 65 entries sofar and climbing, should be good.

Regards from Zurich

M2, these must not be talked about to often because I don't really know what they look like at all.

I would love to have something about that size...what am I saying I want something about the size of Orange II so I can go play waterworld!

Daniel, when I clicked on the first link for the Ventilo M2, then slide down to the second drawing, it looks like the rudders have T foils on the bottom? Is that true or some kind of misprint? Very fast looking boat. I still don't understand why we don't have that kind of stuff over here.

Hi Dani

Saturday then was good eh! Sunday pfff..
Did you see the pictures of the regatta?
http://picasaweb.google.com/shortt.christopher/RGateDOuverture2007

The helicopter used to refuel right at VLM clubhouse.
When he first flew in, we were a little bit scared that the boats could capsize because of the strong wind from the helicopter.

@Timbo

I think the t-foils are only shown on the 3d conceptual drawings, I don't think they were built with them, but I stand to be corrected.

@Andi

Saturday was excellent, I thought that the course could have been a km further offshore so that the right side would not be as clearly favouted as it was.

regards

Daniel

About 75-80% German entries, others from SUI, AUT, ITA, ESP and FRA (I think). up 67 now and a front forecast for Thursday, good news for the heavyweights like myself.

regards

Daniel
