ok guys,
I think I am going to polish or wax my boat to get a new clean finish. I know waxing the boat will 'slow it down' or what not, but I don't think I am that expert of a sailor to where it will make a difference.

Now, anyone have anything to suggest as good material to do it? My boat is a nacra 5.0, and I wanted to get any ideas or thoughts on what to use.

One thing I heard of was Nu Finish, which is a polish, not a wax, but I've never used it before.

The priced of Nu-finish is appealing, the shine seems to last a while and it repels staining from the murky waters of lake charles very well.

Sand the hulls with 600 wet and dry and then compound them with a buffer before waxing for a really smooth finish.

Chris.

Hi Chris,
what exactly do you recommend as the compound to buffer it with?

If your willing to spend the money.... I think the best product out there for compound is 3M Imperial Compound and Finishing Material
We use it where I work which is a big sailboat company and it has performed miracles on boats that were terribly faded.
