What are the best years for H16 in relation to weight?

I have an 86 and am curious on how it would match up to the newer boats. Apparently there were some weight changes in the 80's if anyone knows more about that.

Thanks

86 H16 Its such a fine line between clever and stupid.

I have heard from others newer than 85. My 88 is at least 40lbs lighter than my 76 but thats not to say that all the older boats are heavy. I have also read that somewhere between 80 to 90 pounds per hull is good. If your hulls are heavier than that check the floatation inside sometimes it gets waterlogged and needs to be replaced.

IIRC minimum boat weights were 340 lbs. from 1970-83, 320 lbs. 1984-1988, 340 lbs. 1989-1993 and 320 lbs. since. Your 1986 boat is a lighter "red glue" boat. Matt M or Matt B can probably verify my dates or give you more precice info, if required.
