Yes I think we are all drowning in a sea of F16 rhetoric and drum beating.

Someone asked for a comparison of the boats. I've had both (Inter 17 for 6 years) and in the spirit of the forum I posted MY OPINIONS.

F16 - GBR 553 - SOLD

You know I am sick and tired of the same people turning every topic on this forum into an F16 discussion. Most people dont even bother reading this forum any more because it is always the same misinformed sailors pretending to be the experts and writing nonsense about the F16.

This topic was to generate interest in the F17 NAs. And I might add that the F17 group is 10 times more competitive than the F16 class here in the States.

F16 is a decent little boat but some of you are doing your class a disservice.

P.S. Dont bother replying to me as I'm done reading this forum as well.

I wasn't talking to him anyway and this is the "Open Forum" not the F17 forum.

I'll say it again. "Good lookin' line up. All the best to you guys."

Bob, Mike enjoy. Hope you have great weather.

It's even less fun when you are the loser in those comparisons. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

Thank you Jake, this is what people choose not to see or totally forget about it.

Then when we give BOB a hard time, everyone says we are this or we are that.

Wife begged on her knees for me to shave my "caveman" beard. This was after her famous words "hmm, wonder how you look like with a beard.."
There is a difference between shaving and cutting your head off. I think we get some signals that we are close to the spine now and should stop while it's still fun. Someone probably regrets bringing up the "FAD" business in the first place.

True.
Would he prefer to create an uncrossable chasm between two quite simlar classes? That would be the sign of a true idiot.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idiot

We do need to start traveling more to show up at events so people can form their own opinions of blades vs all other boats. I intend to race some up in Michigan (but probably not until next year). Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to do the Blade much justice against the N17s there.
It is fun to shoot the S on the forum but in the end it is all chatter until there is more boat on boat action <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Rolf, "uncrossable chasm" that's a bit dramatic isn't it?

There is no chasm between Bob and the F16's. In fact it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Bob was seen sailing one.

Now as long as we can keep Wouter off the port layline coming into the top mark then we have accomplished something.

Sitting on a different continent reading this constant F-17/F-16 bickering definately gives the impression that there is a "chasm" between the sailors in the respective classes.

Which port layline dont you want Wouter on? The dutch, the german, the new or the old <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Back, again, to the "original" post,.....

I'm looking forward to meeting the "new to me" group of F17 sailors! The event in Michigan is truly going to be a great time. It's our first "stand alone" event guys! I'm a bit of a historian and this will be one event not to miss.

It appears this Master Unirig Sailor doesn't have many friends. What could he possibly do to make everybody so mad?

Good luck at the championship Master Sailor. Are you going to the Struble clinic?
