A while back there was a thread about non-dealer replacement wing seat covers for the Hobie 8 magnum (including the Amish "cottage industry" after-market suppliers). I couldn't find it again, so I was wondering if someone either has a link or some information about these.

Ha ha. Where we sail, the cross chop is usually so heavy that you'd be drinking brackish water before very long.

That was the name of the supplier I thought someone had mentioned as a more reliable alternative to a non-sailor making them in a barn without regard to, say, ultraviolet resistance, etc.
