The old tramp is being difficult to sleeve back on. I think it's shrunk a bit while being off the boat for about 8 months. Any hints for getting it back on?

Not sure whether this is true or not but a friend of mine who has been sailing cats for a long time swears by wetting the tramp down when he tensions it so maybe that might help <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Put it on in the broad sunshine in the heat of the day...or I've heard that putting it in the clothes drier for a few minutes to warm it up will work too (but I'm not sure it stays warm that long...so I'm not sure what good this will do).

Many people say warming up works..expands....on my Nacra I just undo the front beam on one side and then re fit when the tramp is on.......other boats I have used to reduction units.

I've got the rear beam off and can get the tramp on completely by pulling the transoms together a little. But then I can't separate the transoms enough to get the rear beam back on! Annoying.

What I do is; attach tramp to front beam, start both sides in the tracks, put two double purchase lines from the tramp to the back beam [one on each side] and then pull the tramp back a little at a time on both sides evenly. If double purchase isn't enough, go tripple etc. Make sure you lube the tracks with silicone first.
It takes a little while to get it done so be patient.

B.

Own design F16 with the same deck plan shape as my old mozzie. It is tracked on the sides and rear beam, laced at the fwd beam.

It could be a little different to the original boat, but no more than +- 5mm.

My Tramp will be back on my boat to race with me at the Long Beach Multihull regatta in a couple of weeks. I have been sailing with Bobby K, who is doing the NAs with me, and Eileen has been on Steve Myrter's boat. Both Bobby and Steve are out of town that weekend and we will be back together on the race course. My tramp attachment is a line, like a leash, from the back of the boat with a hook that she can attach to the very capable "can't miss trapeze rings", not her harness. I think that everyone else did not know what you meant by "Tramp".

To get the Tramp back on the boat try some nice wine. To mention age and complain about the shrinking problem is not in good form.
