Hobie 14, 16W, 16Youth
Lots of wind Friday, Good wind Saturday, None Sunday.
Dan Borg wins the 14's going away.
Sue Korz sailing with her daughter Erica win the H16 Womens and Mimi Appel who had semi retired to a Wave comes back to get second scoring her first Bullet ever in a Womens Nationals.
Tyler Myers put together a string of bullets on day two to pass Matt Perkins for the win in the Youth class.
The all girl team of Marie Appel and Sarah Bisesi gave the boys a run and with three 2's on day two to take 4th place.

I tried(unsuccessfully) not to run in to things or flip over while watching how the wife and kid were doing.

Pat, Don't feel bad, I see from the pics "Dangerous Dave" had a little trouble too! You guys are inspiring! Maybe someday I'll get another 14, and see how much an old dog can learn from you guys. Any chance of the girls writing some first hand accounts? I'm very impressed with Sarah and Marie's performance!

We would love to see some more grumpy old men on 14's.
There were 8 guys on 14's that had kids sailing in the youth event. It was fun to watch the coaching going on between races. Dad's trying to give advice and kids sailing away from them.
This type of event with whole families involved is what will keep our sport alive. It's great to see the people of Division 7 pile what seemed like half the regatta in the back of an enclosed trailer and make the trip over.
I know for me it was a bit nerve racking to watch the boat vibrating gusts come down the course and start flipping boats knowing there are kids being thrown in the water. What is more amazing is they right the boats, keep going and then come in and tell stories of how cool it was.
