The A-Class World Championship will be held this November in Islamorada, FL hosted by the Islander Resort. The number of sailors currently pre-registered is 86 and the US is hoping to see the fleet reach the class entry limit of 100. This would set a record for the largest A-Class World Championship ever held outside of Europe which is where the class is the strongest. Contributing to the size of the fleet is unprecedented support by the US fleet. Over 73 US sailors participated in district qualifying regattas over the spring to try to get one of the initial 25 US allocated slots before the entry process became open after July 15th.

The fleet is deep with the following talent racing:

Glenn Ashby
Pete Melvin
Nils Bunkenberger
Andrew Landenberger
Lars Guck
Charlie Ogeltree
Pease Glaser
Jay Glaser
Ben Hall
Phil Kinder
Howie Hamlin
Woody Cope
Robbie Daniel

This will be the PREMIER multihull championship regatta in the US this year and ranks with the Tornado and F-18 world championship regattas in terms of numbers and talent.
