I raced on a Thistle yesterday at Cedar Point YC in Westport CT. The reason I bring this up is that this club is a hardcore sailing YC, nothing but sailing, no pool, no tennis, no restaurant. The parking lot is full of dry sailed Thistles, Flying Scots, and Lasers.
For most of the day, I kept thinking, "This place would be perfect for a catamaran fleet." Big lawn, sandy beach, easy access to the Sound.
Anybody in CT interested in putting together a one design cat fleet and racing? The preliminary feedback on a cat fleet was positive, but the message was clear that I needed to bring skippers, and that other sailors wouldnt be interested in jumping off their current one designs.
Secretly I think that once these guys see a cat they'll want to sail on one.
Any A cat sailors interested?
Any HT's out there I dont know about in CT that want to hang out in Westport CT?

I was impressed with this place, with the exception that they didnt have cats.
