The F17 NAs were held in Caseville, MI over July 28-31. Eleven races were held, with the breeze not showing up on the last day. Twenty boats registered. Racing was tight, with Bob (Outlaw) Curry taking final honors and the North American Champion crown. It was a great NAs on the beaches of Lake Huron.

Thanks to Eric Kennedy, CRAM, The Cathouse, and a multitude of volunteers that made this regatta happen.

Here is a picture of the boys and their toys.

Right on Roger. It was a great event. I would like to personally extend many thankyous to those volunteers who made it happen. I would also like to thank Bob Curry for making the trip north. He is a tremendous individual-a great sailor and simply a cool dude. Thanks Bob. Next time make sure your trap line hits the dogbone!!! Looking forward to next years NA's.. Maybe we will see 25 boats.

I would echo the above comments thanking CRAM for hosting, all of the volunteers, the sponsors and everyone who contributed to a protest free week of good racing.

That is a very nice line-up, guys !

Still, I'm counting 17 boats and 17 sailors.

<img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Of course this is a magic number ! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

F17 nationals, with 17 boats and 17 sailors. If only it had been 2017 instead of 2007 !

Great looking line up guys.
I hope your class continues to grow and prosper.

I know that the voices in my head aint real,
but they have some pretty good ideas.
There is no such thing as a quick fix and I've never had free lunch!

Wouter, if you look at the results you will see there were 2 paid no-shows and one that left early (before the pictures).

Here's a picture from the actual start:
[Linked Image]

The class flag is down (it's yellow - between the second person from the bow and the console of the signal boat).

Bow #40 is Mark Batchelor.

I'm the white shirt on the RC - still holding the voice recorder in one hand and the radio in the other. (Yes, a dyed-in-the-wool Hobie guy was PRO for the event!)

Hey... you HAVE to show the love for those individuals who take on the role of PRO and really commit to getting the training and experience to do this job at the highest level.

PU, Matt Bounds, and Mark Santorelli are three individuals whom I know who are committed and do a great job.

Also, They are not the only individuals on that race course that make it smoke and their ability to coach everyone as to what's needed is a large part of their success.

Many Thanks to these folks and the many unmentioned PRO's and RC's in the sport.

Mark
