A huge Lego toy has mysteriously appeared on Zandvoort beach in the Netherlands. Nobody knows where it comes from
Also, If someone can send me a day by day account of the racing, I might be able to get it onto the Y+Y pages <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
1. Who is Matt sailing with? 2. Anyone want to bet that we see pics of his famous regatta pullover? I won't elaborate here, but it's gotta be coming soon....
Tom

Alright T, do I know what the famous regatta pullover is? And do I want to know?
I think he is meeting his crew today - collegiate sailor or something like that. Matt is loving Z. and now I'm bummed I didn't go too. Looking forward to seeing you at Juana's. Just have to work out the logistics. - G

Gary, My apologies but we have been very busy. Spent the first three days putting boats together. Hans has been very generous allowing us to use his workshop and tools. Just to give an idea I've included a pic to set the scene.
First just the workshop scene. I have a pic of Marcus , 24 hours on the plane, plus a 5 hour wait in Singapore between flights and he is trying to remember how the bottom of the mast fits together. we have this and many more on the F16 web site at 2007 F16 Global Challenge

Now your making me jealous!! Can we get comparative pictures of the various hull shapes? From the limited time on the water how are the different hulls doing?

Most interesting to see is that all 4 hull shapes (Stealth, Taipan, US Blade, Aus Blade) and crew makes up appear to be very comparable in overall speed. All during the racing there is a good mix of boats. Same at the finish line. That is the story from the very limited data we have now.

never thought we would be short of news this week, damn weather allways has the last say <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />. Can't believe we still haven't heard anything about the Viper, maybe it's been renamed the "Phantom" <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />.
Must say I have been impressed by the way the crews have been pushing their boats <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />, as evidenced by the nose dives and capsizes. The number one rule to sailing your cat fast, first you have to find the limit <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />. Then just back it off a touch <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />. Mind you "Altered" found the edge more often than most, see attachment. Its a oldie but a goodie.
Finaly going to get out on my Blade on home water tomorrow, that is if it doesn't Blow the Dog of the Chain, damn weather <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />.

Gary, The Viper has arrived. Like flies around the honey pot as everyone is checking out the new kid on the block.

I've sailed in the surrounding area before and if you can get out it's an awsome place to sail. Get the right amount of West in the wind and the waves are massive !
Just waish there was somewhere you could sail from where you could be certain of being able to launch !
Fighting the surf is worth it for playing in the rollers. Bet place I've sailed for this is the French sailing center at Quiberon. Launch at a protected beach and then go out into the bay to play on the rollers.
