Getting boat ready to sell. Got all the old vinyl lettering and all but one sticker. What can I use to get old glue/adhesive left on hulls? Acetone? etc?
Goof off or Oops - either come in a spray can at Home Depot or Lowes. Great stuff for geeting sticker residue off the boat - even Australian coast guard max load stickers. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

After watching Lionel Messi play, I realize I need to sail harder.
Going to sell "Stress Free". Getting ready to hopefully getting a Blade in 2008.

Why wait? Buy on credit! You'll get to sail sooner ... and the small amount of interest you'll incur will easily be less than the material increases from year-to-year on new boats.
one of the most cost effective ways to remove decal adhesive is to use denatured alcohol. isproypl does not work. you can get denatured at a large pharmacy. it is the kind of alcohol they rub on you before you get a shot.

Have to get some steady income coming in so someone will finance me. Just start a new career. Have resumes out everywhere, but know I am nursing a broken wrist from a fall at the We night races two Weeks ago. As Rozanne Rozadana said on SNL, "It just goes to show you IT"S always something!!!!!!!

John:
Got the Goff Off. Will try in the am when it is cool.
Ya know, ... there *are* products that you spray on, wait, and wipe off. You wipe off the stripe and the glue, all in the same swipe.
How about a "green product" that does this?
3M Safest Stripper

There is a product review in our archives for 3M Safest Stripper. I put this on my TheMightyHobie18, covered with plastic film, then removed old cracked striping by hand in the morning. No fumes, no tools, no muss, no fuss.
The Goof-Off will work well, let it soak, peel off the stripes, then use a clean putty knife or careful razor holder to slide off the goop that is left on the hulls. Wipe clean, done.
