just curious, how much do you guys think the pole/bar that connects the two rudders together costs? (The one the tiller arm connects to)

I recently broke mine, and called the local sailboat dealer and they quoted me over $100, which seemed wrong, because it's just a piece of aluminum piping!

Just wanted to get ideas from what other people thing <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Try McMaster's

Do a search on Aluminum Tubing, then look for Alloy 6061

onlinemetals works also... but you may have to tweak some of the fittings slightly. should be less than half the cost of a "brand" name replacement.

You may be able to get the tubing pre-anodized from those places too. If it's not anodized, the 6061 will begin to corrode over time.

nacra 5.0, houston.

How much should I expect to pay for this anyways? The first link posted is well over $100 as well

Are you sure? From my experience, just the very outer surface corrodes.
