Mary,

I have a great interest in the Mega event, as I’m sure many others on the forum are. You had such great coverage of the Worrell and I was looking forward to all the action from you and Rick during this event. But finally they get wind (could be great action shots on the water) and somebody takes the reporters boat. The photos on the Hobie class site look like someone’s family album (no on the water racing shots just people standing around) what are they doing! If I was not a cat racer and was not aware of the excitement of racing cats you sure would not be able to tell from this (Hobie’s Class site). The only water racing came from Rick yesterday (thanks) I hope you get a boat for tomorrow. Hobie should be supporting the press (for all the marketing 101 reasons) with some basic opportunities (press boat). With such large classes the starting line photos alone would be worth the trouble. Worell happening at sea makes a problem for photographers but this around the buoy stuff should be easy.

Interested in any reports.

Regards

Jon

Thanks for watching. We tried!

It was really funny how my pleas to get on the water were sort of ignored. Then the shell game began with Mike Kelley's boat.

I know if I were running an event I would do everything in my power to accomodate the media.

Oh Well!

This did cost us a lot of time and money to come up here and try to report the regatta.., and sadly it was not how we wanted it done.

I am so Sorry! [Linked Image]

G'day,

Have you checked the web today? We posted some racing photo's. I'm told that spare boats/drivers are hard to come by.

Matt Miller from Hobie Co has been sending photos each day.

We try to have a range of photos for the regatta. Some people like racing, some location photos and others people photos. I think after posting the racing photos today, we have a good mix.

Cheers

Steve
