Was wondering if anyone was planning on going to tradewinds in jan? Trying to decide if I want to take some time off work to drive there and back.
Also is there any idea of a F16 nationals next year? Once again just trying to schedule time off as early as I can.
Thanks

Ill be there. Tim, the race site has a huge pool and racers have access to use it.

What hotel do we want to use? I am willing to call a few and get a group discount for the F16 crowd.

I'll also be at Tradewinds.

As for Nationals...not sure it will be a nationals, but we're working on getting an east coast regatta that many boats (F16's) can attend in the Spring. One possibility we're considering is trying to link in with Key Sailings (Pensacola Beach) Mid-Winters in March.

Stay Tuned.

Discussions were to be had last week regarding scheduling. Some of the FL F16 guys wanted to participate in the Harken Buoy Series points regatta (Pensacola), but had to miss it b/c Gulfport. They are trying to schedule them separately this year (I hope).

Timbo,

The Islander Resort seems to be pretty cool. Nice pool, hot tub, large grounds and neat atmosphere. Not sure if they are offering a discount and it is the A's HQ (I think).

Spring?? How about Spring Fever being the site for Nationals? Half way between for east coast and Fl guys. Great venue with lots of boats and three days of sailing. The F18's and Mystere's made it their nationals last year.

No vacancies that week-end. A little pricey too. It is high season in the Keys, rooms are at a premium.

The regatta location, " Founder's Park(?)", has excellent day facilities: beach, pool, tennis, skate boarding.

If you can find a motel close to the site, you'd do well to grab it.

Does anyone have an interest in stopping off at Gulfport on the way down? Rest, tune-up, have a small clinic, drink beer?

Matt and I are going to Tradewinds also. I think we stayed at the Pelican Cove Resort last year in Islamorada. Chuck H. is this the place? I can't remember, anyway it was very nice and would be worth staying at again this year. Not for sure as I haven't discussed it with my man. It is at Mile mkr. 84.5 Ocean side. 800-445-4690. - Gina

So, can we get an F16 Fleet Roll Call for Tradewinds? From this thread I count, 4 plus me makes 5: Robi, Pete, Terry, Matt +Gina, me. I will be solo without wife or kids, anyone want to split on a room somewhere? I plan on arriving Friday afternoon, departing Sunday evening. Two nights in a motel. I still have to see if I got the days off yet but I probably will get them.

Tim, if you need inexperienced crew, I know a guy that would love to give it a go and he's quite capable of pulling a line or two.
