Nigel Pitt and Mr Ernie hosted the 2nd Area D North Alter Cup Qualifier over the weekend (the 1st attempt was the Noregatta Regatta in which the wind did not cooperate). There were a total of 11 competitors on several F18's, a N20, two A-cats,a Blade, an 18sq, and a Getaway. The wind was nice with just under 10 knots on most races, and several streaks of whitecaps at times. Race committee did a super job (Thanks Kip and crew!) of getting in 6 races on Saturday, and 2 races on Sunday. The N20 was typically first to finish, but not always, followed by either an F18 or the Blade. The well sailed Blade won handily on handicap almost every race. Final results are:

1st - Olli and Joanna - "Two Sharp to Touch" Blade F16
2nd - David and Mike - Team Layline - Infusion F18
3rd - Wick and Jake - Nacra 20
4th - Nigel and Tammy - Infusion F18

A huge thanks to Nigel and Tammy for hosting the event, providing housing for all of the competitors, and the awesome steak dinner at Chateau Pitt for everyone.

And wind! Thanks Nigel and Tammy

Massive respect points for the Getaway crew for giving it a shot in this fleet !

One can only admire such a "can-do" mentality.

The Getaway crew were there for the Bud Light...
Seriously.. They were a nice young couple just getting into racing. I actually respect all the other sailors that openly welcomed them into an event of this level. Even though they were finished on the course each race, I think they had a great time and appreciated everyone's hospitality. That is the great thing about this sport.
Thanks Nigel and Tammy for your generosity and fun weekend.
