Got the job. Need a car used car salesman for a big multi dealer like www.roncarter.com and a apartment locator if any one knows one?

P.S. Rudder Club - Beach type launch ramp? I HATE ramps.

It's a ramp but a better than average set up - shallow water with moorings for cats during launches and in-between races. Great clubhouse, awesome bartender, good staff and lots of gas grills for the twice-monthly socials. I know of a house for sale very near the club, too.

The ramp at the Rudder club is nice, I can lanch and recover my tornado single handed.

Rudder Club is very nice, personable, very friendly, even has a lovely riverfront pool. Catsailing there is presently in fragments. PLEASE, PLEASE join and restore the cat fleets!

Doug -

I'm not there anymore, but lived in Jax for about two years. I was a member of the Rudder Club during that time. You won't find a better deal - it is a whole lotta club for just a little bit o' money. Answers to your questions are at http://www.rudderclub.com - please tell Diane in the office I said hello. And for Elaine - world's best bartender - I recommend a GIANT tip on your first order. She'll be your bud for life and you'll never wait for a drink again.

Looking like a very strong possibility. What is the cost of mast up storage there?

The Rudder Club website says mast-up $360/yr.
See you there for the Gator Bowl Regatta!

Can't wait to get there. Will start with the Mystere 4.3 then get the Blade when I have the money. Fla sailing circuit is going to be a hoot when I am off.

Sinice it has been established that there are no active fleets in Jacksonville, what are the most active fleets near Jacksonville? I have been thinking about a new boat myself.

If they don't place me right away I am. Either way my furniture, SUV and boat will go there with daughter and son in law till things get lined out in Fla. If they stay there, i will be coming back to visit on a regular basis. Things are just in limbo as these are new offices they are setting up.

Mike:

Gulfport Yacht Club is where I am going when I move to Tampa. They have a VERY active group. New members HAVE to race 2 times a month to join the club. They have 5-6 Blades already there (my next boat). There is also a group at the Dunedin (sp) causeway. Let me know hoe to contact you when you move to Jacksonville, as I will know no sailors there.
