Posts: 9,582 North-West Europe | Hell, why not post the Mossie and F18 pics here as well ? We're all cat sailors afterall and we all like looking at pics of other boats.
By the way Tim Sheppard did sooooo well on his Mosquito + spinnaker that it will be crime not to congratulate him. (He came in 2nd overall 55 boats)

Posts: 6,049 Sebring, Florida. | That's a great picture of going lower and faster on one hull vs. higher and slower on two. Yes, I realize they are not on the same type cat, but if the Tiger had it's crew down on the low hull, skipper mid tramp, they might also be flying a hull downwind, going faster and deeper.

Unregistered | Hi Ratherby,
the Ashby is one I already had on "Altered". Am using it temporarily, while we are continuing to improve the performance of the "standard sail", FCA is endeavouring to make the "standard sail" as competitive as possible, so development is on going. Of course if you want a Ashby main that can be supplied. | | | Re: Pics of Gary Sailing at Top Gun Regatta

Unregistered | Love that picture. Hey how did you do the graphics on the spinnaker? I know this issue has been discussed here from time to time and hand drawing with markers is usually recommended - but the text in particular looks so precise here that I'm curious how you did it. | | | Re: Pics of Gary Sailing at Top Gun Regatta

Posts: 6,049 Sebring, Florida. | For fancy spinnakers there is a company over there that uses a projector to put the image onto the spin, then paints the colors in place. Not cheap, about $600 for a logo I had done a couple years ago, but they did a good job and it looked great. I guess if you were a very good artist you could do it yourself with the right paint.

Posts: 199 Constanta, Romania | You can actually print anything you want on spi's or other sails with large scale printing machines that are used to print advertising banners, should be cheaper then hand painting. If you were in Romania I could have helped you out. Ask somebody that works in an architectural bureau or advertising firm. There are some limits depending the print machine and type of media feed mechanism. You can also print the patterns on adhesive paper (large scale) and make templates on the spi and then paint yourself (cheapest). If you are really interested send me drawings and I'll send back templates (.pdf -can be printed in any print shop). Template method id easier and cheapest if you're near a print shop. If you want to get it even fancier you can make the templates on a cut&plot machine, that way you don't have to manually cut the areas to be painted.
You can also cut the drawing out of a special film that can be applied to the spi by heat transfer. The film is very thin and can be applied to very thin materials like the nylon material of an umbrella. The film comes in various colors, and not too expensive (16Euros per sqm). Siser is one of the manufacturers of this kind of films. The cutting can be done either manualy or on a cut&plot machine.
