Hey guys!
So i'm planning on going to FL for a week for the the Steeplechase, fly back do vanguard 15 midwinters, team race midwinters then hang around the state til tradewinds which will rap up around the 3rd or 4th. I'm trying to stay down in FL until the 18thish until I go down to Key Largo for Tradewinds then on to Key West for race week.
I might have a place to stay in Tampa for some time but my friend there is committed to a serious big boat campaign and could leave at a moments notice leaving me with no where to stay.
So anyone have any idea where I could try to find some cheap lodging yet get some sailing in? I'll have a Nacra 20 and a Vanguard 15
How about if I stay in Tampa where could I launch/ maybe keep the boats to do some sailing?
If all else fails I might be forced to drive north after team race midwinters, skip tradewinds, and i'd hate to do that.
Thanks.
Todd

Hey Todd,

If you haven't already done so, look up a contact for the Davis Island Yacht Club. They are located in Tampa and might be able to hook you up.

Todd, head over to http://www.couchsurfing.com/ and sign up. I'll bet you find a nice big couch to crash on...

Cat sailing and camping at the Dunedin Causeway. Quite a few cat sailors in this area camp out on the islands. Weather is great now. Also Clearwater Sailing Center, the Gulfport Yacht Club, and as mentioned the Davis Island Yacht Club in Tampa for sail and launch areas.
Hope this is of some help.

There's probably some room at the "inn" here on Barracuda Blvd in Key Largo if you're in need. After New Year's we'll have 1 or 2 vacant bedrooms. Might drag you down to the beach at Founders Park to help out some leading up to Tradewinds. ;-)

You can set up and sail your boat(s) at the park.

Wow thanks guys! Didn't expect such a response. Trey, that couchsurfing site is awesome, seems like there are some sketchy characters on it.
Barb, I'm going to send you an email thanks <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
