Hi all, attached is a pic of my new rudders from Fibreglass Factory (08 83260877) in Adelaide. They track straight and steer my boat very well. Quality is good.

Phone Tony for a price, mine were custom made for my stocks and bungy type hold down so best if you get a price for your setup.

Hey Darryn,

Thanks for the feedback. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I tried bungy cord but at high speed the rudders would lift so I reverted to rope. It would also get jammed when raising the rudders and result in cutting through strands of bungy. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Have you had any of these problems ?

Regards,

Peter

Takes some trial and error to get the bungy tension correct, when its right they release the weed and pull back into place. The 8mm bungy I use jams the rudder in the up position allowing me to sail back through the surf with one rudder poiinting up, out of the water and one rudder horizontal so I can steer. I have found having two rudders horizontal when coming back through the surf cause's things to break but one is enough to steer. I am talking about surf, not chop and onshore breezes, being able to steer through that stuff is everything.
