Yesturday i went out for a sail with no crew in about 25knots, [color:"blue"] [/color] main and jib. I went back out with out the jib so i could actually handle the boat instead of the boat acting as if i wasn't on it. Well when i was sailing i noticed the boat didn't feel normal. After a while my skip/crew called me back so i could go with a jib and him. When we sailed it i noticed the boat not only it didn't fee; normal but it allso wanted to nose dive all the time. I have the mast raked but not to much to slow my tacks down heaps and i was trapezing all the time at the back of the boat. Am i the only one with problem or are their others. The last questions are: Why does this happen and how to prevent it with out mast rake?

Nah thats the weird thing i dont have water in the hulls, their air tight. Well i was wondering could the nose dive be because the mast isn't rotating enough?

It depends on what point of sail you are on. While pointing, it shouldn't be that hard to keep from driving your leeward pontoon under. But, on any kind of reach, especially a broad reach, it is fun to sail a 16. I have a foot strap on the rear of my hull; I put one foot in the strap and the other by the rear corner casting, and have my crew sit on the rear corner casting on a reach in a good blow. If weight transfer will not keep you bow up, ease the sheet.

I know the boats nose dive easyest down wind but my problem is the boat wants to nose dive when im going up wind. The boat isn't handling the same as it normaly does so at the moment i have to tapeze of the back full time which isn't right.

Jules, you need to rake the mast back to the point when you sheet the main in, your block to block. If the forestay isn't long enough to rig it is easiest to add a second chain plate at the bridle wires. May need to rake rudders forward to correct added weather helm created by the mast rake.
