It is my duty to welcome a new F16 member. (I was yelled at from another thread)LOL

Nevel in South Carolina USA picked up my boat Saturday. We rigged her up, sailed her for a bit and disassembled her and off she went. It was a sad day for me for sure. My loss was his win, plus you lose some you win some.

Anyway he lives close to Jake, hopefully Jake can help him sort out the boat slowly but surely. He is comming off a 29er and previously a N5.2.

I hope to run into him eventually and get to sail against eachother.

May you have plenty of fun and if you read this, jump right in. There is a good collection of sailors here with plenty of experience on these boats.

Welcome to the family!

Thanks and yes I intend to race her. With any luck, I will have a trailer under her and the bottom fair and ready to race soon. I want to go south for some events but I need to learn the boat before I go too far with it.

That's the spirit. Another F16 drinker with a sailing problem <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> This is the type of Regatta I enjoy most

For us proper Northern Hemi folk a good way to aid recovery from the Winter Blues is to check out this website once in a while. http://www.arubaregatta.com/

Mark,
I was only half way through my bottle of Bourbon when I went to the link. Still I couldn't understand the commentary.
Any chance of a translation?

Regards,
Phill

Finish the whole bottle then open another. You still wont have a clue what they're saying but by that time you wouldn't even give a damn!! The Long Distance Race is a good action video and shows us peasants what we're missing. There are also a couple of photos of a patched up Capricorn, the damage was caused on the start line and the owners thought it was the end of their Regatta. However, Franz and Miecher Hemskerk patched it up during the lunch break and the Cap was back on the water racing that afternoon. Now thats what sailors and the sailing ethos is all about.

Trailer is under the boat now. Cat tracks will be here next week and bottom work to begin soon. I hope to hit the water soon with her to start the learning process.

Neville, post up some photos of your bottom work, I am interested in how you will attack those small nicks etc. I never got the entire gel coat thing down very good.

Also take some pics of when you go sailing. Isnt it a bit cold up in your neck of the woods?

I will do my best to document my work for you. As for the weather, you have to pick your days. I wear neoprene on everything but my head to stay warm. I am usually very comfortable. I doubt your Puerto Rican blood could handle it. You would probably need to change from rum to vodka and then you would find the happy zone.
