I see that Somers yacht club on Westernport Bay in Melbourne are hosting this and the big names are going out to play. Can you see the racing from the shore and what are the best positions to do so.

yes you'll be able to see all the racing from the beach at Somers (or the deck on the Yacht club would be even better). In a sea breeze the bottom mark will be approx 50-100m off the club but the top mark will be a long way out, Ts do bloody big courses and there was concern at one stage that we wouldn't be able to get a "decent" work in. When you get there track me down, I'm the short fat guy on the front of the boat at the back of the fleet.

You'll recognise me I'll be the bit taller fat guy holding a crown lager. Perhaps I should put my name down as emergency crew then I could see whats happening at all the marks.
